Want to get the most out of your summer? Are you plagued by an injury that is limiting you from getting the most in life? No worries! An Athletic Therapist can help you get the most out of your summer! Contrary to the name, we work with people from all walks of life to help them achieve their health goals. Stay tuned so we can let you in on some secrets to unlocking the path of fulfillment!

How can an Athletic Therapist help you?

Our main goal is to find out what drives you to be the best you that you can be. If this means you have a goal of hitting up that hike that you’ve heard so many good things about or you simply want to be able to play some catch with your kids on the beach, we’ve got you! By finding out your why and developing benchmark placers of how to get you there we can help you get there. We would listen to what your needs specifically are and begin to develop a plan that will be uniquely beneficial to you.

We would also look at the nature of your complaint and help determine what factors are contributing to your aches and pains. By using all of this knowledge we can then further tweak our plan to help fit you best. This is what makes an Athletic Therapist different, we look at how each piece is connected and individualize a plan to best suit your needs.

Who do Athletic Therapists work with?

We work with a wide spectrum of people, not just athletes! If you want to get out hiking just for fun or try out some water sports, an Athletic Therapist has your back (or your knee, hips, shoulders, you get the point). Because we are so skilled at working with muscles, tendons, bones, nerves, ligaments, etc. we have a really well-rounded approach to helping you succeed. In addition, Athletic Therapists are trained to take you back to the basics of your foundations as well. If you’re thinking, what does that mean? I am glad you asked! It means, that we will break down the bigger more complex movements that are required for your activity and start with those smaller parts in order to help work you back up to the bigger steps required for the demands of the activity. It wouldn’t be fair to start you out with something that is way above your level, this only makes people frustrated and lose the hope they have of returning to the activity they love!

Athletic Therapists generally get into what we do because of our own experiences. Maybe we were once athletes ourselves who had a lot of injuries but, there are many of us who just struggled so much in the health care system and felt passed along and not heard that we sought out alternative methods. We hear many times that we are the best kept secret! This here is really the gold of Athletic Therapists. Because we are seen as the new kid on the block, people are generally quite surprised that they didn’t know about us before.

So how can I enjoy my summer and get the most of it?

We are always looking for ways we can get into that summer shape! So here are a couple quick steps to get you started:

Picture2
1. Start early

Get an assessment by an Athletic Therapist now so that you can get started before anything pops up. Injury prevention is a key part to getting a lot out of your summer.

2. Set goals

Have an idea of what areas you want to work on or what you would like to achieve so you can keep track of your progress.

3. Make a list, what can you do vs. what you can’t do (right now)

This is a great way to see what you may be missing out on and how we can help get you back to it!

4. Speak with an Athletic Therapist

If you’re on the fence of what we can do for you, reach out, we’d love to speak more with you about how we can help.

These are just a few ways to help get you started in enjoying your summer. Life doesn’t wait for your pain to go away so, why not take life by the reins and take it into your own hands? This is the best way to take control and enjoy the life you want to live. If you aren’t sure if seeing an Athletic Therapist is for you, ask yourself if the life you are living now is who you want to be? If the answer is no, talk with an expert to help give you guidance to live a long and fulfilling life.

Have we peak-ed (like the mountains) your interest and you are curious to know more?
